We feel strongly that all people, regardless of financial status, should have the opportunity to be healthy and foster community with others. Thanks to generous donations to our Annual Campaign we are able to assist in making the Y accessible to all.

Yes. Each membership includes five guest passes per year for you to bring someone into the Y with you. Guests will be required to have a signed liability waiver on file to enter.

With a West Y Membership you have access to all three Grand Traverse Bay YMCA Facilities.

You must give a 15 day written notice for your membership to properly be placed on hold.

You must pay the fee of $10/month for every month you will be placing your membership on hold.

You may only place your membership on hold once in a twelve month period and no longer than six months.

If you are placing your membership on a Medical Hold you must have a signed recommendation document from a physician. (There is no fee associated with a Medical Hold.)

Payment is due at the time that the form is submitted.

There are no refunds on hold fees.

Holds take effect based on your draft date (either the 1st or the 15th).

Annual memberships will simply be extended for the same amount of months your membership was put on hold.

Having a membership to the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA gives you up to a 50% discount on program registrations such as swim lessons and tennis clinics. Community members are able to register for programs as well.

Member Dress Code

Please embrace the family friendly environment of your Y and wear appropriate attire. Our dress code is as follows:

Shorts: Should be basic athletic shorts without skin overexposure. 

Pants/Shorts: Should not expose undergarments or midriffs. 

Shoes: Wellness Center shoes must be closed toe, clean, athletic shoes. Black soled shoes should be non-marking. Bare feet are allowed in Aquatics Area and Locker Rooms only. 

Aquatics Areas: Please wear appropriate swim attire. Mermaid tails are not permitted for any age group.

Shirts: T-shirts or tank tops must be worn at all times in the facility except in aquatic areas, restrooms and locker rooms. Shirts must cover your midriff completely. Shirts displaying inappropriate design, logos or offensive messaging are strictly prohibited.

You must be 15+ years old to be unaccompanied on the Wellness floor. Click the button below to see all of our age policies for each area of the facility.

Yes we participate in the Nationwide Membership Program. You must utilize your home branch more than 50% of the time and must have a guest waiver signed on file.
